Why hire an interior designer?

If you are here, you have at least considered hiring an interior designer. Congratulations! It’s a big decision. Your home will most likely be the largest purchase you ever make in your lifetime. It is the place where you will spend the majority of your life, where you will make memories, watch children grow, take their first steps, and then what seems like a few short years later, walk out the door and off to college. Or where you might take on an aging parent in their final years or bring your young adult child back home while they get back on their feet. Your home is where you live your life. It is where you land when you have gone off to have great adventures and see spectacular places. Like Dorothy said, “There’s no place like home”. You may already feel that way. You may be looking around your home right now and thinking, “Yeah, right”. Our homes should be our sanctuary from the madness and chaos that besieges us as we emerge from it each day. When we come home from a long day of work, school, or just living busy lives, our homes should greet us with open arms and a warm hug.

Let me ask you this: Assuming your home is the largest investment that you’re going to make in your lifetime, are you satisfied with how it looks now? How it functions? How it feels? Are you happy when you sit in your space? Are you proud to have people over? If so, that’s fantastic! That is what interior designers truly desire for people to feel. It is our fundamental goal to have people fall in love with their homes. If you don’t, do you know how to fix it? If you don’t, we do. We not only know how, but we are really really good at it. It is not just a job for us, it is a passion. I have been passionate about interior design since I was a little girl. If you read the “about” page of this website, you’ll know that my first foray into interior design was my bedroom as a teenager. I thought sponge painting my turquoise walls a lovely shade of bright white was a fantastic idea. Very Southwestern chic. The funny thing is the rest of the room was great. The walls were a disaster. However, the one thing I will remember, aside from the horrific, yet bold paint choice, was that my mom gave me the freedom to do it. That began my journey into interior design, and my passion has only grown from there.

Your home should not only be a place you long to be in, but it should “feel” like you. It should tell people who you are and just by being in it and should let people know what is most important to you. It should also function well for you and your family. If it doesn’t it may mean that you need more space, but oftentimes, you might just need to rework what space you currently have. Sometimes, a client might be considering a somewhat large renovation project when all that is necessary is scaling down some furniture pieces, swapping a couple of rooms, and investing in some built-in cabinetry. That is why hiring an interior designer is so important. We can see past the current state of your space and can work with you to figure out how to meet your needs in the most efficient, functional, yet beautiful way possible.

So, should you hire an interior designer? If you are still on the fence, or you know that you will, and are ready to get started, you can either go to the “contact” page on the website and reach out to our team, or the “services” page, scroll to the bottom and click on “book a consultation” to give us a little information about your project and we will get back to you to set up a free consultation. We can’t wait to hear from you!

Cheers!

Jenn
